This is the beginning of a little project I’m calling “Love Letter to Tipp City,” a series of images celebrating the people, places, and details that make this town so special. More images are coming soon, and I want to share them with our community as we welcome people for Christmas shopping & holiday events. 

Blending artist & scientist, I notice tiny shifts in muscle tension, posture, and the way light shapes the edges of a face. Photography lets me translate those details into images that help people see themselves as capable, professional, approachable, and deeply human.

And in a world where first impressions happen online, especially on LinkedIn, websites, About pages, and brand stories… a headshot isn’t just a picture. It’s communication. It’s biology meeting creativity. Milliseconds meeting emotion.

After taking a long hiatus from photography, I’ve found so much joy in returning to it… and now her girls are growing up through my lens.

Watching her family’s story unfold frame by frame has reminded me why I fell in love with this craft in the first place. Looking back through the images, I’m struck by how much can change in what feels like such a short time.

As I looked at the images together, it felt like a moment when time folds in on itself, like in the movie, Interstellar. Photography is one of the closest ways that we get to time travel, and Kevin reminded me that music is another portal.
