Love Letter to Tipp City, Ohio | Christmas Snow Day, Part One
This is my love letter to Tipp City, written in photons of light with my cameras.
I woke up early this morning, bundled up, and walked downtown before sunrise. It was absolutely stunning. It was the kind of soft snow that makes our little town feel like a Christmas novel or a Hallmark movie.
As I walked, I kept experiencing waves of nostalgia about how much of our life has happened here. We have so many memories of my sons riding bikes through town, Kevin playing cello on the Coldwater Cafe patio, watching Damian with the marching band, and so much more. We moved here almost a decade ago when Damian was in elementary school & now he’s a high school sophomore.
We took some pictures in the (very cold) snow a couple weeks ago with a tripod near the Tipp Roller Mill.
Tipp City is the place we rooted in and we’ve all grown together here. It’s held so much of our story, and this project is one way I want to give something back.
This is the beginning of a little project I’m calling Love Letter to Tipp City, a series of images celebrating the people, places, and details that make this town so special. More images are coming soon, and I want to share them with our community as we welcome people for Christmas shopping & holiday events!
Veterans Memorial Park in Tipp is a beautiful place for more than pictures at the gazebo. There are beautiful monuments to explore that honor our active military & veterans.
My son, Kevin, tells me that Sally, from The Carriage House, arranges & delivers beautiful bouquets to Coldwater Cafe each week. I’ve always been enchanted by this adorable building!
Everyone is welcome to use these images for social media, please credit me and send any portrait referrals my way if you like my work. Let me know if you’d be interested in prints for some Christmas Tipp City magic!
If you want your own winter portraits in the heart of Tipp City, I have December and January openings. I would love to photograph you in the same beautiful places featured in this series.
If you are a local Tippecanoe business wanting complimentary high-res images, send me a message. I would love to support you!
