I have been a photographer in Dayton, Ohio since 2009, and I enjoy the variety of photographing pet portraits, personal branding (head shots), and commercial photography for artisan products.
My approach is simple, kind, and direct. Our connection starts at the initial consultation to ensure we are prepared to work toward creating images you will love. I gently communicate my ideas & allow room to patiently work towards achieving both eloquent and intimate printed photographs. I am discreetly proficient with my equipment, while also being sensitive to the energy of those around me.
My style pulls from elements of fine art theory, but I am a discerning director that takes time to build a set that facilitates genuine expressions of both people and pets in my portraits. I enjoy collaborating with my clients to understand their goals & vision, whether in my photography studio in Troy or on location in Dayton.

“She who seeks beauty will find
it and thrive.” - Favorite (modified) quote from photographer Bill Cunningham
I live in Tipp City with two sons, Kevin and Damian, who will soon both tower over me. We are big fans of Harry Potter and baking cookies. I proudly taught them how to play baseball & it is an honor to be their mama.
We are surrounded by more guitars & dragons than I ever imagined,
and I love every moment of it.
After hours, I am finishing a master’s degree in physiology + neuroscience with graduation in Spring of 2021. I will always be curious, and I enjoy reading research articles in the morning with my coffee. Sometimes I write on my personal blog, Tether & Fly.
I’m an amateur baker transitioning into a full fledged “plant lady,” that can’t get enough from learning about the connections in our bodies that make us who were are.
We love to ride our bikes to our historic downtown, stopping at our favorite cozy shops.

Student & Photographer
In 2015, I returned to Wright State to continue the journey to medical school that initially began in 2002. This time, I was a single mom in my early thirties. With both of my sons in school, I could take the pre-med courses I needed + earn my bachelor’s degree.
In summer of 2018, I graduated with a bachelor of science degree in psychology with a concentration in behavioral neuroscience. My undergraduate honors thesis research was in a behavioral neuroscience lab where I examined changes in cytokine activity (tiny protein cell signals) in the brain after stressful events coupled with an immune challenge. Now I am planning to finish my master's degree in physiology + neuroscience from Wright State in spring of 2021.
It has been brought to my attention that my goals are unusual. Believe me, I often wonder how art & science will intersect in my future. I truly believe they share a dynamic alliance in our universe. I move toward my academic goals (slowly), while appreciating the gift of being your photographer.
I’ve written more about this on my personal blog, TetherAndFly.
